Job Summary:
Two full-time (1.0FTE) positions for a junior level PhD post-doctoral researcher are open in the Nechiporuk lab at Oregon Health & Science University in Portland, OR. These positions will provide a mechanism for the hired individual to develop into a successful independent researcher in the fields of cell and developmental biology. The Nechiporuk lab uses zebrafish as a model system to study mechanisms of the peripheral sensory system development and function. The hired individual will use variety of modern approaches, including transgenesis, CRISPR-based genome editing, single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq), and live imaging, to dissect intracellular processes that drive axon growth, neurotrophin signaling, and collective cell migration during development and disease. Successful candidates are expected to have a published record of accomplishment appropriate to level, and good written and oral communication skills. Experience in model organism biology, cloning, molecular biology of DNA/RNA/protein, microscopy, CRISPR, complex genetics, bioinformatics is a plus.
